Hi,
On a very snowy day over Christmas we took a day off skiing to visit the Cumberland wildlife Park near Grunau in Almtal. About 30 mins on from Gmunden. Highly recommended. They have a web site but are only open weekends in winter. It was quite magical in the snow and must be beautiful in summer. All types of animals Bear, Bison,Deer. lynx---the list goes on and on. It is worth making the time to do the long tour---about 2 to 3 hours on foot----longer if you stop off and linger.
We will revisit the area in summer for some longer walking further up the valley.
